Leonard Nimoy recruits the Fat Bottom Revue
SF Gate "Star Trek" icon Leonard Nimoy is focusing on large women in his second book of kinky nude photographs. Nimoy shocked Jewish groups with the publication of his 2002 photographic collection "Shekina" with its juxtaposition of nude photographs with religious imagery. The 73-year-old recruited the performance troupe the Fat Bottom Revue to model for him, and he used nude works by Helmut Newton and Herb Ritts as his inspiration. He tells Page Six of his photographic subjects, "They are interested in fat liberation. Their self-esteem is strong. They will tell you that too many people suffer because the body they live in is not the body you find in the fashion magazines." |
